Gruber has openly admitted that Obamacare was written in confusing language designed to fool what he calls “stupid” Americans. He also admits that if the Obama Administration told the truth about what Obamacare would do, it wouldn’t have passed at all. In other words, because Americans are so stupid, they don’t know what’s best for them – so elitists like Jonathan Gruber and Barack Obama must lie to them and impose their will on all of us.

The counting of absentee ballots is over in Alaska and Dan Sullivan has defeated incumbent liberal Sen. Mark Begich to be the next U.S. Senator from that state. Begich was a lock-step liberal who supported Obama’s radical agenda. Sullivan had an 8,000 vote lead in last week’s election, but more than 40,000 absentee votes had not yet been counted.
“This bill was written in a tortured way to make sure CBO did not score the mandate as taxes. If CBO scored the mandate as taxes, the bill dies. So it was written to do that. In terms of risk related subsidies, if you had a law which made explicit that healthy people pay in and sick people get money it would not have passed. Lack of transparency is a huge political advantage. And basically, call it the stupidity of the American voter or whatever, but basically that was really, really critical to get the thing to pass.”
“President Obama’s Attorney General nominee deserves fair and full consideration of the United States Senate, which is precisely why she should not be confirmed in the lame duck session of Congress by senators who just lost their seats and are no longer accountable to the voters. The Attorney General is the President’s chief law enforcement officer. As such, the nominee must demonstrate full and complete commitment to the law. Loretta Lynch deserves the opportunity to demonstrate those qualities, beginning with a statement whether or not she believes the President’s executive amnesty plans are constitutional and legal.”
“The Supreme Court has recognized that ‘over no conceivable subject is the power of Congress more complete’ than its power over immigration,” the letter said. “Therefore, President Obama will be exercising powers properly belonging to Congress if he makes good on his threat. This will create a constitutional crisis that demands action by Congress to restore the separation of powers.”
In Alaska, GOP candidate Dan Sullivan is 8,000 votes ahead of liberal Democrat Senator Mark Begich – with an estimated 50,000 absentee ballots still to be counted. Sullivan hasn’t declared victory and Begich hasn’t conceded. The vote counting should be finished next week. Begich, of course, has been a loyal supporter of Obama’s radical goal of “fundamentally transforming” America into a stagnant European welfare state.
It is rare that a political party running for office in a midterm election not standing for anything ends up with a mandate, and they have one, and it is the biggest and perhaps the most important mandate a political party has had in the recent era, and it is very simple what that mandate is. It is to stop Barack Obama. It is to stop the Democrats. There is no other reason why Republicans were elected yesterday. Republicans were not elected to govern.
I think it’s a little disingenuous at this point. He has had six years to work with Republicans and now he is offering a hand and willing to sit down and work with Senator McConnell and our other soon-to-be colleagues and again, six years we’ve have had that opportunity to work together and move America in the right direction but he has been so disengaged and not willing to work with Republicans or even some members of his own party.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) has blocked all meaningful legislation sent to his desk from the House. Reid has blocked efforts by Republicans to degrade and destroy Obama’s “progressive” agenda for America – and he has been a reliable soldier in Obama’s army of leftists in Congress.
Many Washington politicians don’t understand the struggles we face, or they believe we are incapable of making responsible decisions in our own homes and communities. They forget that we simply want to exercise our right to pursue our own happiness and carve out our own part of the American Dream.
