Protecting the American people from threats against the nation is the highest priority of the federal government. However, in direct contrast to this goal, the Obama Administration recently approved a final regulation to lift a 30-year prohibition on Libyans coming to the U.S. to attend flight school, to work in aviation maintenance or flight operations, or to study or seek training in nuclear science. Once Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Jeh Johnson signs this regulation, it will go into effect unless further action is taken.

We know that some of them are trying to return to their countries of origin to carry out terrorist attacks. How do we know that? It’s already been attempted. On May 24, a suspected French jihadist with possible ISIS ties traveled to Belgium, where he is accused of attacking innocent visitors at the Jewish Museum of Belgium in Brussels and slaughtering four people — and it was reported earlier this week that he allegedly had been plotting a larger attack on Paris on Bastille Day. In August, an accused ISIS sympathizer, Donald Ray Morgan, was arrested at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York trying to re-enter the United States. On Monday I filed the Expatriate Terrorist Act of 2014, which would amend the existing statute governing renunciation of U.S. citizenship to include fighting for a hostile foreign government or foreign terrorist organization as an affirmative renunciation of citizenship.
Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) was on “The Kelly File” last night to respond to Obama’s speech earlier in the evening on his “strategy” on dealing with Islam. One of Obama’s most glaring lies during the speech was the claim that ISIS (Islamic State) is neither Islamic nor a state – and that no religion condones the killing of innocents.
Last year, at a forum sponsored by National Review, U.S. Senate candidate Joni Ernst explained her conservative values — including her belief in limited government, and a strong national defense. Ernst, who grew up on a farm in Iowa, is a commander in the Iowa National Guard and has led men and women in combat areas. She has been endorsed by GING-PAC and has a good chance of being the next U.S. Senator from Iowa in November.
This week, Obama claimed that his policies on ISIS were designed to make it a “manageable problem,” while Joe Biden claimed that the American military would pursue ISIS to the gates of hell. Biden’s claim was immediately mocked by Special Ops soldiers in Iraq who have been sent to defend our U.S. Embassy. One Special Ops soldier said it’s unlikely that they’ll be able to pursue ISIS to the gates of hell, when they can’t even leave the gated embassy compound.
In August, Sen. Scott took time from his busy schedule to honor the veterans of the Vietnam War, a tragic war that was lost by Democrat leaders who refused to pursue victory over Communism in Southeast Asia. More than 58,000 Americans were killed in this no-win war and thousands were wounded in a war that President Lyndon Johnson had no intention of winning. Johnson pursued a “containment policy” instead of a victory policy — the same sort of no-win policies being pursued by Obama in dealing with ISIS terrorist threats throughout the Middle East.
Whether we’re talking about President Barack Obama’s threats to take executive action on immigration, the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) blatant executive regulatory overreach, or Health and Human Services (HHS) cherry-picking which ObamaCare provisions to enforce and which to delay – this president and his administration have a very bad habit of ignoring the law and the Constitution.
Over the Labor Day weekend, Congressman Trent Franks (R-AZ) appeared on Fox News to discuss the illegal immigration crisis and the national security crisis along our southern border with Mexico. There are signals coming from the White House that Obama is planning on granting amnesty to millions of illegals who have flooded into our country – but that he won’t make his move until after the mid-term election.
Huckabee notes that no Middle Eastern countries are sending troops to fight Islamist killers and no Western nations are jumping into the battle either. European nations don’t trust Obama to follow through on his empty threats and they don’t think they should sacrifice the lives of their own sons. If Middle Easterner leaders won’t get out of their palaces to defend their lands, why should we?
According to Gohmert, Obama always seems to side with Islamic terrorists against Muslim regimes that pose no threat to the United States. Gohmert points out that if Obama had bombed the Syrian government into oblivion last year, the Islamic State terrorists would have immediately taken control of Syria and would have been even more powerful than they are today.
