SENATE

New Jersey:  Senate candidate Steve Lonegan continues to gain in the polls against Hollywood backed liberal Cory Booker, the mayor of Newark. Booker has recently been exposed for tweeting with a stripper from Portland. Booker says it was completely innocent but he appreciates the support he’s received from Lynsie Lee who works out of a “vegan” strip club. Booker is expected to get questionable help from Vice President Joe Biden, who will undoubtedly say something irrational and embarrassing on his campaign stop.

Lonegan is now facing an unashamed Anthony Weiner-type candidate in New Jersey. Lonegan just may win this battle in the special election on October 16th. He needs our help!

Senator Tim Scott and William Murray

Senator Tim Scott and William Murray

South Carolina: Senator Tim Scott faces voters in the upcoming 2014 election. He was appointed by South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley in 2013 to serve out the term of former Senator Jim DeMint who currently runs The Heritage Foundation.

Senator Scott is a strong conservative who will most likely face Obama operative Rick Wade. Wade worked as an Obama campaign advisor organizing the African-American vote in 2008. Wade also worked in the Obama Commerce Department – undoubtedly doing whatever he could to damage the free enterprise system and American businesses. Wade is currently deeply involved in the “green car” business with other leftists. (GING-PAC has already donated to Senator Scott’s campaign.)

Four GING-PAC endorsed Senators have introduced the Adoption Information Act

Senator Jim Inhofe (R-OK), Senator Deb Fischer (R-NE), Senator John Thune (R-SD), and Senator Mike Johanns (R-NE) have introduced a bill that would require that family planning services and programs, including those run by the abortion industry, should effectively promote information about adoption as an option. Planned Parenthood is fighting the bill, since the only option they want a pregnant woman to know about is abortion.

According to Senator Fischer, “Adoption forever changes the lives of countless children in need of a good home and parents who feel the call to form or enrich a loving family. Unfortunately, many individuals utilizing family planning services do not receive adequate information about this important opportunity for birth and adoptive parents. It is critical that those seeking these services are informed of all options available to them. This legislation helps make sure the option of adoption is effectively promoted.”                           (See other side)

In Senate races, who needs Democrats when the GOP has Karl Rove? “Republican” strategist Karl Rove has become a serious enemy of genuine conservatism in America.

In the past few months, he’s been on the talk show circuit to explain why he has no qualms about trashing courageous men such as GING-PAC supported Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX), who has ruffled the feathers of the liberals and the RINOs in the Senate and House. Rove has justified trashing Cruz because both he and Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) refuse to tow the establishment line, particularly on social conservative issues.

Rove has established the misnamed “Conservative Victory Project” to defeat strong social conservatives and Tea Party candidates who threaten the RINO status quo in the Senate and the House. The Christian Science Monitor reported in February that it is likely Rove will be targeting Congressman Paul Broun (R-GA) in his bid for the U.S. Senate in 2014. GING-PAC endorsed Paul Broun for his runs in the House and currently endorses him for the Senate seat to open in Georgia in 2014. GING-PAC has already donated to the Paul Broun campaign!

According to the Monitor, Broun is “… exactly the kind of candidate that, in theory, Rove’s group would want to weed out. Ultra-conservative on both social and fiscal matters, Congressman Broun has amassed a reputation for making inflammatory and controversial statements during his time in Congress. A doctor, he gained national attention last fall when he said at a sportsman’s banquet that ‘all that stuff I was taught about evolution and embryology and the big-bang theory, all that is lies straight from the pit of hell.’

Every Senate candidate Karl Rove backed in the 2012 election LOST! Karl Rove was on the Mitt Romney bandwagon early. We need to beat Karl Rove and elect Paul Broun in Georgia!

HOUSE

On September 9, Congressman Randy Forbes (R-VA) led members of the Congressional Prayer Caucus in a special order hour on religious freedom.

Constitution Day, September 17, marks the 226th anniversary of the signing of the United States Constitution. In honor of this remembrance, Members recognized our First Freedom. “Religious freedom is the very first thing named in the First Amendment,” said Congressman Forbes. “It is our First Freedom, and it is a fundamental human right. . . . [It is] the hallmark of the American spirit of freedom.”

Congressmen Walberg, Lamborn, Wittman, Lankford, Fleming, Franks, Gohmert, Pearce, and Griffith addressed a broad range of religious liberty concerns. In addition, Representative Doug Collins submitted remarks for the Congressional Record

Marriage and Religious Freedom Act introduced in Congress – This legislation, introduced by Congressman Raul Labrador (R-ID) if passed would provide conscience protections for those who believe marriage is a union of one man and one woman. Such a law is needed because of recent court decisions that pit gay activists against Christians or Christian organizations.

The Heritage Foundation has noted that, “The New Mexico Supreme Court ruled that the First Amendment does not protect a photographer’s right to decline to take pictures of a same-sex commitment ceremony—even though doing so would violate the photographer’s deeply held religious beliefs as a Christian.

“Christian adoption and foster care agencies have been forced to stop providing those services because they object to placing children in same-sex households. Other cases include a baker, a florist, a bed-and-breakfast, a T-shirt company, a student counselor, the Salvation Army, and more.”

GING-PAC will be supporting more social conservatives running for Congress in the 2014 cycle, to join members of the Prayer Caucus such as Congressmen Forbes, Franks, Gohmert and Lankford as they put forward this type of important legislation.

Please support the ongoing work of GING-PAC in funding the campaign efforts of committed social conservatives in the House and Senate. Right now we need funds for the Tim Scott and Paul Broun Senate races. Help us take back the Senate! Donate to GING-PAC today!
