In the face of numerous lawsuits to overturn the abortion mandate in Obamacare, the Department of Health and Human Services has announced a “change” in how the abortion mandate will be enforced.

The change is essentially meaningless, according to pro-life groups who are challenging the regulations.

Under the abortion mandate (which was not in the original law), Obamacare requires that nearly all health insurance plans provide sterilizations, contraceptives and abortion-producing drugs without co-pays. Religious entities such as churches or seminaries are exempt.

The new change now exempts non-profit religious organizations. It still violates the religious beliefs of individuals who run non-religious organizations – forcing them against their will – to provide contraceptive and sterilization coverage. The owners of Hobby Lobby, for example, will still be required to promote abortion on demand – which violates their religious beliefs and commitment to the right to life of every child of God. It still forces such for-profit religious book sellers such as Tyndale House to subsidize the abortion industry.

The new “change” could just as easily be revoked tomorrow. HHS can add or subtract Obamacare regulations at will for any reason. Christians are at the mercy of Obama and his faceless bureaucrats at  HHS.

Obama’s HHS doesn’t care if it violates religious liberty or freedom of conscience. Obama is firmly committed to abortion on demand and he’s paying off Planned Parenthood and other abortion industry big wigs for their support of him during two election cycles.
