Former Senator and presidential candidate Rick Santorum spoke out on behalf of the unborn at the March for Life last week. The event – which was attended by an estimated half million Americans – commemorated the 40th anniversary of the Roe v. Wade abortion decision. This decision has resulted in the killing of at least 55 million unborn babies.

Rick Santorum could have been President of the United States, but the Republican establishment and the likes of Karl Rove decided that social issues were too controversial. So, they picked Mitt Romney, a RINO who led the GOP to defeat last November. Rove and his ilk managed to lose what should have been a slam dunk victory over one of the most corrupt politicians in our nation’s history. They ran from social issues and they lost.  Our nation will suffer dearly for this political blunder.

In his speech to the pro-life crowd, Santorum noted:

“It is an honor for Karen, our children, and me to be a part of this year’s March for Life.  This is a positive movement, about the dignity of all human life -the unborn, the elderly, the sick, the disabled.  Ultimately, we are a pro-life country that that respects everybody not for what they can do, but for who they are.

“The right to life is the first right.  Without its protection, no other rights matter.  The March for Life on Washington reaffirms our fight to stand tall for those who have no voice, and to fight for the sanctity of all life.

President Barack Obama does not share this principle.  He is the most extreme president in history when it comes to his views on the dignity of human life for the unborn. Not only has the President broken new ground as the leader of our country by enthusiastically seeking to eliminate any and all restrictions on abortion, he has pioneered new levels of animosity towards those who believe that all life has value.

“And yet today I know that despite his opposition to these issues, we will win on this front.  Watching the hundreds of thousands of Americans marching for life is an inspiration to me and my family.  On the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, we together know this: an unborn child is not just a clump of cells.  He or she is a human life, as worthy of basic dignity and respect as any one of us.  Each precious, irreplaceable human life is too infinitely valuable to permit courts to redefine its meaning away.  And we share these principles as they relate to those with special needs.  There are many issues confronting America, but this continues to be among the most important.  We must continue our fight to preserve the dignity of every human life.”

This is the man who could have been President and Commander-in-Chief of our Armed Forces. Instead, we have Barack Hussein Obama, who clearly despises America, the unborn and our military.
