Values Voter Summit - Several conservative congressmen and Senators are speaking this weekend at the Values Voter Summit in Washington, DC. Government Is Not God – PAC (GING-PAC) participates in this event each year. Among the speakers were some congressmen GING-PAC helped to elect including Michele Bachmann, Tim Huelskamp, Steve King, Jim Jordan and Majority Leader Eric Cantor plus GING-PAC supported Senator Jim DeMint. Also present was VP candidate Paul Ryan. More on Values Voters.

The GING-PAC goal  - I founded Government Is Not God – Political Action Committee (GING-PAC) back in 1993 and the first election the PAC participated in was in 1994, the year of the so called Gingrich Revolution. I did not found the PAC to support either Newt Gingrich or the Republican Party, but to help elect socially conservative, godly men and women running for office. One of the first such candidates GING-PAC supported was a young man running for Congress in Kansas named Sam Brownback. He later became a Senator who very aggressively chaired the Values Action Team in the Senate and was key to passing the Partial Birth Abortion ban. He is now governor of Kansas

GING-PAC is the oldest political action committee for social conservatives in the nation.  I still do chair it, and I still try to make a difference through it by helping elect social conservatives to office, including my good friend Congressman Todd Akin who is running for the Senate in Missouri. Congressman Akin wrote the forward to one of my books, The Pledge: One Nation Under God. I keep the affairs of GING-PAC separate from those of the Religious Freedom Coalition, which is a non-profit organization

I founded the PAC and called it Government Is Not God, because I saw the creeping beast of government becoming just that, a new kind of god to worship, a god-like government that was replacing the family and placing itself at the center of everyone’s life. My fears have become reality. Today about half of the households in the United States receive some kind of financial support from the government, from food stamps to Social Security. Despite the outrage over Barrack Obama’s pro-abortion and pro-homosexual attitudes and his attacks on those who truly believe in the Word of God, he is ahead in national polls and ahead in seven of the eight so called battleground states. He has replaced God with government for many families in this nation, and they intend to vote for him to keep the bucks rolling their way.
