GING PAC Statement on Dr. Paul Broun

Dr. Paul Broun is one of those gifts from God that just sort of shows up on Capitol Hill once in awhile. Shortly after winning a special election to fill the seat of a congressman who died in office Congressman Paul Broun looked me in the eyes and told me it was God who wanted him in Congress because he was there against all odds. That is very true. The entire Georgia Republican political machine tried to defeat him in favor of a state Senator to fill the vacated seat of deceased Congressman Norwood. Convinced that they could knock him out they put up yet another state official to run against him this year in the primary. He won with 90% of the vote and still credits God and not himself.

Congressman Broun’s  first legislation was a pro- life bill that would declare that a human life begins at conception. Dr. Broun is a practicing medical doctor who has come to Washington openly proclaiming his faith. His next bill was a resolution co-sponsored with Congressman Todd Akin to recognizing the importance of the Ten Commandments. HR-598 would set aside the first weekend in May each year for Ten Commandments recognition.

There are maybe 185 or so congressmen who vote for social conservative issues, but few who “carry the water” by authoring the bills and moving them forward. Dr. Paul Broun is one of these few.

GING-PAC has endorsed Dr. Paul Broun for reelection for a full term and has assisted his campaign financially.
